For the first time in ten years in the U.K cash uses has gone up. I think its people getting rid of their copper coins as recession edges closer. Bank branches are closing on the highstreet so for cash fans like me two things are happening. One is I'm still drawing out money from cash machines to support remaining banks so they are there for older and disabled people to use and second is I'm using up my coin jar piggy bank coppers (pennies and two pence) as no point saving them now.
For some reason we dont like to carry around our smallest coins so we store them up in jars and tins etc and change them to notes every ten years or so. Well Im using up mine and no longer storing them and its almost like having free money. You feel like you have got a discount on food stuffs if you use these coins,. I'm also doing that because I know I wont be able to change the coins back to notes as all the banks eventually close, the only place to change them to paper.

I keep no cash around just keep using my debit card. When I lived in NYC with my mom and mom and I both went to work we had a lot of change mostly quarters. I needed the change for the subway. So we had a piggy bank in which we saved up all the loose change and once a month rolled the coins went to the bank and cashed them in and had money to do some shopping, Those were the good old days when money really meant something,

Smart move. I use my debit card and only take out money for my laundry card.
