This is the third book in the Bells Pass Christmas series of novels. No, I didn't read them all in a row. There's another book I read I haven't reviewed yet. ~~~ Addie and Ellis now hold the title for biggest dating disasters of Bells Pass. Each afraid their differences are too much to overcome, they pretend friends will be enough for them forever. It will take a broken window, a broken leg, and a magical sleigh to convince them that their differences are what make them unique together. This Christmas everything will change in Bells Pass, and no one will be untouched by the magic of old Saint Nick. ~~~~ As I have said in my previous reviews of Katie Mettner books, she is an inclusive writer. This story has several instances of this. We have a bi-racial woman, a man with a heart condition which requires a pacemaker, and hate crimes. The characters from the previous two books are still here so the Chronic Asthma sufferer and Chronic Arthritic sufferer appear in the story as well. There is also a sub-plot about Addie not knowing who her father is and finally confronting her mother to give her a name. This part of the story touched me greatly as I relate to it in my own way. I loved the storyline and even sent a direct message to the author about it. She responded the next day. The hate crimes are forefront to this story. A bi-racial woman dating a white man results in vandalism by gang initiates from outside the wonderful quaint community of Bells Pass. Another great holiday read.

I'm reading a book by Jodi Picoult at the moment and that in very inclusive too. I really admire the amount of research that Picoult puts into her books.

Yes, there are a lot of authors who do quite a bit of research. Knowing all the ins and outs about these conditions Katie Mettner includes obviously took a bit of research.
