Always Wanted to go on a Road Trip

Do you like road trips? I mean small trips that might only take a few days. Of course road trips can last longer than a few days. Maybe you can go for a week or two. Where would you like to go?
I have never been on a road trip myself, but I have always wanted to drive cross country and see America via the back roads rather than large highways. It would be a photographic trip so I can take pictures of things only the people who live in those areas normally get to see. I would also like to take shorter day trips so I could be home in my own bed at night.

I've done a few, shortest was 2 days longest was 4 months. If you go cross country I would suggest making sure you've the resources to stay at least 3 days at each stop. Its nice to pack up and go every day, but on longer trips that gets to be a drag. Also, it is good to do road trips when you've got warmish weather.
I've also seen that volunteering whilst on the road, actually gave me time to appreciate things a bit better, I got new skills, met amazing people and had the opportunity to take a break whilst taking a break
. It does remove some flexibility from the schedule, but it is really worth it.
