A woman managing life alone character is always targeted

When we were a family of four- My husband, our two sons and me. Most of the work outside the home was managed by my husband. Even when my sons left home, my husband didn't allow to manage the works like house maintenance, renovation, marketing, shopping etc. Today when I am alone, I hire the same people for house maintenance whom my husband hired. Only for this reason the people around me have started gossiping about me that people of maintenance attend to my calls immediately and behave well with me because I am satisfying them sexually. A very mean attitude. Isn't it? What did the men and some women of my area expect. I would run after them to get things done? A ridiculous and dirty mentality I should say. Do women folk in your country get the same treatment?

That's mean. Unfortunately! Such people exist everywhere who have a filthy mindset. Most of this comes out of jealousy. Many don't like others to be independent and self reliant. And I would say the bitter truth that many women can't withstand a woman who is strong and independent. They start targeting her character..
You can't do anything to them. Ignoring them is the only way.

To some extent yes it's jealousy. They can't stand the fact that I am managing things efficiently without their help. I therefore avoid them.

@aninditasen You are doing the right thing. As long as our conscience is okay, we don't need validation from others. Avoiding them is the best way for our mental peace. Getting into conflicts with such people would do no good.
