Two Great Movies

I enjoy vintage movies from the mid-30s to 1959. The '60s was a real bust in my opinion. Then there were many good ones from the 70s to the present day. I watched two great ones last night which I will share with you below. I think one of the best production houses is Warner Bros. Even to this very day, I can look to see which it is after seeing a good movie, and 9 times out of 10 it is Warner Bros. Sleepless in Seattle (1993) I think we have all seen this movie. Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan fare. A cute son and a broken-hearted dad who can't get into life again after the loss of his dad. His son calls into a radio show and is trying to get him some help. It is a fun romp. The last ten minutes or so of this film kill me every time I watch it. It's one of those that if you haven't seen it you need to. In Name Only(1939) with Cary Grant and Carol Lombard. It starts with a fishing scene out in the country. She is trying to ...... her line and gets it caught in a willow branch. Cary's playfulness is just sublime in this. It is an emotional ride you just want to go on. It has it all. Laughs, romance, sweetness, mean wife, catty friend, sadness, near loss, etc. One of his best and earlier films. Have you watched any good films you'd like to share with me?

Watch Diane Keaton and Michael Douglas in And So It Goes, and tell me if you think it deserved the 5.9/10 IMDb rating.

With her in it I'm sure it deserves a higher scoring.

I haven't seen In Name Only. Have you seen Lake House? Makes me cry every time. Have a good day. Here's the trailer:

I remember both of them, and they were really great movies. There's something wrong with my remote, which won't let me key in to TCM, I'll soon have to get one. I love old movies.
