Buffett Buffet Top Ten: Biloxi (#6)

Congratulations! You survived another mad holiday season!! Only 339 days until it starts over again. 
Yesterday would have been Jimmy Bufffett’s 77th birthday, a somber reminder of the great music we lost in 2023. (That’s January’s theme.) Here’s one of my all-time favorite Buffett songs (and I expect full cooperation from Horse and NJ Chic!).
#6: Biloxi
I spent three days in Biloxi on my vacation in November, and I can guarantee you that this song — both this version and Jesse Winchester’s original — got a lot of spins on the iPod.
This song is simply stunning. Winchester wasn’t born there (he was from the ArkLaTex area, Bossier City, Louisiana), but he sure captured the beauty of the city. And Buffett put a brilliant spin on it.
The city of Biloxi has a live camera in the lighthouse on US 90, pointing west. That way, you can watch “the sun…set from off towards New Orleans” while you listen to this song.
What a great tune.

I love this and ever since I heard it ai have wanted to see Biloxi. Heck, even though I know it will never be possible I would love to say like Johnny Cash in the song - I've been everywhere,
