Will end with 68 books / myLot

The last book I borrowed from the library for this year—that I’m almost done reading—is Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck. I think I read it in high school but don’t remember. Not a bad book. Once I’m finished, my total for this year will be 68 books. That’s three books over my reading goal. I would’ve loved to get to 70 but not sure I’ll be able to do that. The previous year my goal was 55 books and I read 65.

@LindaOHio perhaps you need to put it down and try something else. Have you ever tried audio books?

Not bad at all. Mice and Me is a classic and I read it in late Middle school year High school during the summer. Yeah, my dad made me read it. For myself, I just finished reading book 100 last night which was my reading goal for this year and the first time I recorded doing so. For 2024 I'm going with 72 books knowing I can without breaking a sweat read around 3-4 books a month depending on how many pages the books are but also knowing I'm trying to write 5 books this year and so far I have 1 written still working through edits for it but at least that is less than 140 pages.

I just finished the book and will try to read a few more books so I can end with 70. And my goal was next year will be 68 books or whatever I finish this year with.

@lovebuglena indeed I do still have more time. I can't think with the kids being supper loud today so writing kind of went out the window today for my own books. So I'm kind of binge-reading right now while making a few extra cents online while I do so. Book 101 is only 84 pages long and I've read 37 pages of that already. Even the birds want to me nosey right now.

@lovebuglena They also might read very fast. My sister read 100 books last year, but she reads so fast. Some were slim books, for sure, but sometimes you just get a person who is a natural speed reader.

@AmbiePam That person said that last year they read only 2 books. To go from 2 books in a year to 100 books in a year is very impressive.
