A man who lives in California is grateful that the firefighters from the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department came to his rescue after the man was trapped inside of a hole in Sunset Hills in San Diego.
The name of the rescue victim was not released to the public when he either called for help or an eyewitness called the authorities to inform them about the incident that happened on Thursday afternoon.
The firefighters worked around 20 hours to rescue the man who was not able to get out of a hole when he fell down through a hole around 15 feet surrounded by rocks.
The man tried to build a shelter when the accident happened. The authorities had to wait until the tide would go down before they were able to rescue him by closing the hole where he was trapped and use IV fluids and drinks to keep him awake through the night.
Thanks to the teamwork of the first responders who were able to rescue the accident victim on Friday, the accident victim was taken to a local hospital where was treated for minor injuries and released.
The accident victim is grateful to his rescuers for saving his life. A neighbor who was an eyewitness of the rescue as a "Christmas miracle."

That sounds nasty. He was lucky that the tide did not fill his hole with water. A nightmare, until you are rescued.
