Old Coins Hunting in the House / myLot

When my family and I went to my aunt's house to celebrate New Year's Eve, I got the idea to check my parents old coins. It has been many years since I wanted to do it. In the first place, I wanted to organize them and see what would be the outcome. I started to check them one-by-one yesterday. To my surprise, I found some old coins that can be sold to coin collectors online. I have not found the highest value of these old coins yet. The fun is on fire when I am hunting those collectible coins. It seems like I am going to have my new hobby, which is to hunt and collect them. I have plenty of old coins, the old European currencies before that the EURO currency was introduced 25 years ago.

I am sure they are pricey now. As for me, I am focusing more on checking the old local currencies.

@LadyDuck I agree. I had also checked some of the old coins' value; it was not that much. Because of this, I just want to keep them. I found 25 cents, which was hard to find yesterday.

@Shavkat I checked around and they are worth almost nothing. Only the very ancient coins are worth some money. For very ancient I mean from ancient Greece or the Roman empire.

No, but my husband did. He has a small chest full. Never thought to look them up online.

I also brought them out of my parents' small chests. They were not organized and segregated, so I am starting to put them on DIY coin holders.

I used to, but not now. It is hard to find coins that actually have some value to them.

I agree with you. There are so many rare coins that can be found. As of now, I have seen some errors on old and new coins (low mint mark, extra metal, overlapping, etc.). Some coin collectors claimed it was of high value.

I think you need to check them out if you have the time. It slows down for me because the date of an old coin is too small. So, I ordered a magnifying class online to check them without any shortcoming.

I think I am not going to sell them for now. I just wanted to feel like a coin collector. I am learning something new along the way.

I used to cllect old coins. I sold most of them on ebay and kept some.

For now, I will just keep them. I might sell them if the value becomes higher. I am having fun fixing and putting them on DIY coin holders.

I collect old currency note, old coins and stamps. Some may be quite valuable. But I do not intend to sell them for now.

I used to collect stamps, but I stopped doing it. Although I am considering to do this in the future. For the old currency notes, I have not checked them yet.
