Welcome to the first Wednesday of 2024 and hope you are enjoying your New Year still. I should Wetsday though because it is pouring, and its going to pour some more for the next 5 days and then after all of that wetting, we are forecasted for snow for a few days as well.
Here it was holidays for two days, so everything was closed, except for the supermarket and a few market stalls. To be honest, we were just happy to be outdoors and enjoying some sunshine. There is a little gap in the rain this afternoon, so market for this afternoon. Washing was done yesterday already, so we are almost ready to hunker down and sit out the wet. I fear hiking might turn into diving at some point
I've made a decision this year to read some more. My own fault for letting things get to me last year, if I read 20 pages the first 6 months of 2023, it was a lot. Also, no more wasting time looking for decent movies. Good movies are so few and far between now, I'm better off reading at night anyway. Got a few books I'll get my eyes into.
Lunch today will be something quick, probably buckwheat, potato and marrow soup and some cheese skillet breads. Winter is going to start biting into availability of fresh produce soon and tinned and dry goods do not feature so much here. It will be an interesting experience, hope we do not end up with just pumpkin though
I'm going to revive a long lost interest in classical music and opera, the more so as we are in a town with an actual opera and ballet theatre. Tosca was performed at that theatre in the early part of last year so hopefully, if they have some performances this year, we will be able to go, and the language won't be a barrier either. But first I want to let Majnoon and Eylül Ergül's magical oriental improv transport me to far lands, fitting because my first book tonight will be my long ago purchased copy of 1001 Arabian Nights.
I only see now, today is the Festival of Sleep Day. Apparently I'm in a celebratory mood if I like taking a nap round about now. Well, before I nod off, have a wonderfully sleepy Wednesday and take a nap when you feel like it

I am not a winter person. I love sunny days and that is what we get when winter is over. I grew up with very very cold winters and so much snow that when I moved to Jerusalem in Israel I loved the mild winters and now for the last few years they have been milder and sometimes we get snow and other times not and we get rain. I do not like not knowing if it will be nice or wet and cold enough for snow.

We are supposed to get rain today, and maybe some snow. I don't like snow or cold. I have to get out today, but hope it won't be for long. Enjoy your reading this year, I know what you mean about finding a good movie. I've been watching Chinese and Korean drama, they're really good. Enjoy your day and nap.

@traveonworld You’ll wait a long time to find a good movie! Winter is such a good time for opera and concerts when you need to be inside.
