As I’ve doubtless said before, I never pass a skip without a quick look to see if anyone is throwing anything useful away. And a few months ago I found the Christmassy headband shown. I thought it would be just the thing when panto season came around. And sure enough, working at the theatre it was exactly what was needed. Normally we need to dress soberly, all in black, but for panto season it’s the opposite – Christmas jumpers are in, and the more bling the better. I got lots of compliments on my choice of headwear. The funny thing was the mix of reactions when I said I’d found it in a skip – some people exclaimed ‘What a great find!’ while others just sort of said ‘Oh…’ Anyway I love it. Putting it away now until next year

I think it's very pretty, may be some were horrified by the fact you found it in a skip.

@BarBaraPrz This is what I thought. You place in a sealed bag and freeze for 24 hours and the germs are gone.

If you are happy that's all that matters. Whoever said 'oh' should be ignored (lol) That is a pretty hairband.

@fleura What a pity you don’t live beside me - we are downsizing from a sprawling gentleman’s residence to a tiny grumpy old man bungalow and our charity shops can’t take any more of our useful excess.

Very cute..one time I found a huge Christmas wreath. I kept it for awhile but eventually got rid of it..as it was gigantic and would have taken up my entire door and seemed impossible to mount. It must have come from the door of a mansion or something.
