Has This Happened To You?

It's funny when I get attacked on social media over something I've posted that someone else didn't have the reading comprehension skills to understand. Makes me want to tell them to go back to school, for both our sakes. Has such a thing ever happened to you?

Oh yes, and they expect me to explain to them about what I posted. It makes me wonder what is being taught in schools these days. But then I realize that that wouldn't do much good either. I get annoyed when I read directions that are aimed at people who have comprehension skills of a 4th grader. Like having to continually sign that you understand that you are getting a "Non child proof lid" on your prescription bottle. Or the other one that I love is that you need to replace the lid on the recyclable water bottle, and that the bottle needs to be empty before you throw it in the recycling bin for recycling. UHHHH, that's kind of a "DUH" moment. Doesn't one buy a bottle of water because they are thirsty? And don't they usually drink the water before they throw out the bottle? It's kind of like years ago I read about "The Dumbing of America". When do we stop dumbing people?

Sometimes I'll deal with them in futile hopes that they might learn something and retain what I'm trying to get across to them. It doesn't always work, but one can hope. It's in the same category as having our washing machines here at the apartment complex out of order. I put in a work order and suggested that it might be something as simple as the coin boxes needing to be emptied. After two weeks of having the washers being down, I filed another work order request and again stated that it could be as simple as the coin boxes being full. I said in the work order that it was a quick and easy fix that would take maybe 5 minutes at best. Well, this time someone paid attention, and someone came up and emptied the coin boxes. Funny, the washers promptly started working again. I also had explained that they would be in deep trouble if one of the tenants injured themself in taking their laundry to the laundromat. The maintenance person was here in less than fifteen minutes. One of the other tenants is taking great delight in telling everyone that I was the person who got the washing machines fixed. I haven't heard the people in the building putting me down for my intelligence or abilities. It is truly a turnaround for them, now they are wondering "IF" I can teach them. I'm at the point of "Sorry, I'm not into putting up with that kind of frustration when I know that the people I would be dealing with have the intelligence of a over ripe banana. I don't want to have to lower my intelligence levels to accommodate someone else's laziness in not wanting to try to learn new stuff. I also don't want to put up with the put downs about my knowledge or preferences.

I have had to deal with a few persons who disagree with me for being critical of their favorite sport stars.

I've been lucky not to be attacked; but then again I don't usually post anything controversial. Have a good weekend.

Yes, mostly on forums, some people have strong points of view on half information and do not want all of the information. Sometimes it is just laziness. And some people are just plain angry all the time.
