Day 2 – Perfection
Genesis 2:1 Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and the host of them.
2 On the seventh day God (Elohiym) ended His work which He had made; and rested on the seventh day.
3 God (Elohiym) blessed the seventh day and sanctified it because He rested from his work which God (Elohiym) created and made.
4 These are the generations of the heavens and the earth when they were created, in the day the LORD (Y@hovah, yeh-ho-vaw Jehovah) God (Elohiym) made the earth and the heavens, 5 before any plant of the field was in the earth, and before any herb of the field had grown. For the LORD God (Jehovah Elohiym) had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was no man to till the ground.
6 A mist went up from the earth and watered the ground.
7 The LORD God (Jehovah Elohiym) formed man of the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
8 The LORD God (Jehovah Elohiym) planted a garden eastward in Eden; there he put the man whom He had formed.
9 Out of the ground made the LORD God (Jehovah Elohiym) to grow every tree pleasant to the sight, and good for food. Also, the tree of life and the tree of knowledge of good and evil were in the midst of the garden.
10 A river went out of Eden to water the garden, from there it parted and became four riverheads.
11 The name of the first is Pison, which compasses the whole land of Havilah, where there is gold.
12 The gold of that land is good. Bdellium and the onyx stone are there.
13 The name of the second river is Gihon. It compasses the whole land of Ethiopia.
14 The name of the third river is Hiddekel. It goes toward the east of Assyria. The fourth river is Euphrates.
15 The LORD God (Jehovah Elohiym) took the man and put him into the garden of Eden to tend and keep it.
16 The LORD God (Jehovah Elohiym) commanded the man, saying, “Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; 17 but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, you will not eat of it. For in the day, you eat thereof, you will die.”
18 The LORD God (Jehovah Elohiym) said, “It is not good that man should be alone. I will make him a helper for him.
19 Out of the ground the LORD God (Jehovah Elohiym) formed every beast of the field, and every bird of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them. Whatsoever, Adam called every living creature, it was the name.
20 Adam gave names to cattle, the birds of the air, and every beast of the field; but for Adam a helper was not found.
21 The LORD God (Jehovah Elohiym) caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept. He took one of his ribs and closed up the flesh.
22 The rib, which the LORD God (Jehovah Elohiym) took from man, He made a woman, and brought her unto the man.
23 Adam said, “This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh. She will be called Woman because she was taken out of Man.”
24 Therefore, will a man leave his father and his mother, and will cleave unto his wife: and they will be one flesh.
25 They were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.
God’s name
LORD – Jehovah means self-existent or eternal.
God – Elohiym means mighty God.
God’s character – Instructor
Together you have the self-existent, eternal, mighty God who not only created the universe and man, but He also instructed man regarding His creation.
In this chapter you see an explanation of the sixth day of creation. God shows you how He created man and animals on the sixth day. He formed them with His hands. You see a description of Eden, where God placed man to tend and keep it, and you see how God made woman from man.
God didn’t overlook a single detail in His creation. Not even when it came to watering the ground because it had not rained yet. A mist came up from the ground to water the land. Everything in creation was perfect. However, man was alone. God remedied that. He caused Adam to go into a deep sleep, took a rib from him, and made a woman. God performed the first surgery.
The self-existent, eternal, mighty God wanted man to enjoy His creation and enjoy a wife. Everything was perfect.
When He completed every work of creation, Jehovah Elohiym rested and blessed the seventh day. He instructed Adam about the care of the garden and what they could and couldn’t eat, and the consequences of disobedience – death.
Adam and Eve lived a life of complete innocence in the Garden of Eden. They were unaware of their nakedness.
God gave man wisdom and knowledge to name every animal, bird, and creature. He named every plant and tree. Whatever name Adam gave it, it is known by today.
Solomon told people what God intended when He created man.
Proverbs 1:2 To know wisdom and instruction, to perceive the words of understanding, 3 to receive the instruction of wisdom, justice, judgment, and equity; 4 io give prudence to the simple, to the young man knowledge and discretion.
5 A wise man will hear and increase learning, and a man of understanding will attain wise counsel. (NKJV)
That is what Adam and Eve had when God formed them from the dust of the ground, breathed into their nostrils the breath of life, and they became living souls. God’s creation was perfect. He saw everything He created and said it was very good.
Let’s pray: Father, thank you for forming me and making me perfect in Your sight. Give me Your wisdom and knowledge so I can understand what You intend for me. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

And yet, there was a wily serpent in the perfect garden of Eden too. God must have allowed this for some reason too.
Man sinned, and spoiled the perfection, so was sent out of the Garden of Eden.

@innertalks God doesn't want puppets. He gave everyone free will to choose. God doesn't want anyone to perish, but that's not how man sees God. He sees Him as someone with a lot of do's and don'ts to follow Him. So, they choose their way and not God's way. Even if that way gives them a one-way ticket to Hell.

@just4him Planning for something bad to happen, is perhaps a good idea, but God could have presumably blocked this from happening too, by keeping the serpent locked out of his garden of Eden.
To begin this whole cycle of sinning, and redemption, which has been going on ever since, is hard for me to understand, as to why it was really necessary.
