Another great movie with Cary Grant in the lead as Doctor Noah Praetorius who is a popular doctor and professor at this university. (He has done so many movies that were memorable. I had forgotten about this one and found it on YouTube the other night.) It is a grand story about a doctor named Praetorius who falls for a student named Debrah, a student(Jeanne Crain) under his care who shoots herself when she finds out she is pregnant because her ex-boyfriend died in the war and she can't tell her father. So Praetorius lies to her and tells her the test is wrong and she isn't pregnant after all. The story whirls around to them falling in love and getting married. (There is a sweet scene when he tells her the truth.) He becomes the victim of a witch hunt by one Professor Elwell who is jealous and feels disdain for Praetorius' popularity and unorthodox medical views. He also questions his relationship with the mysterious and always-present Mr. Shunderson. There is a meeting to discuss Elwell's questions about Praetorius. Afterward Shunderson says to Elwell: "Professor Elwell, you're a little man. It's not that you're short. You're... little, in the mind and in the heart. Tonight, you tried to make a man little whose boots you couldn't touch if you stood on tiptoe on top of the highest mountain in the world. And as it turned out... you're even smaller than you were before!" This is a great movie and, if you want to watch it you can find it on YouTube.
