Taoism. A few thoughts

If you are a lizard, be a loving lizard

Taoism is mainly double meaning, and yet when it talks about love, there is no double entendre. Here are a few more ideas from Taoism. He who knows, speaks wisely. He who does not know, speaks foolishly. He who never speaks, is more often an ignorant person, than a fool. When I stop trying to be who I am not, I become who I am. Just be. The lovingness of emptiness ensures the fullness of the loving, but the emptiness of non loving ensures the emptiness is just emptiness, and never becomes the fullness of loving either. He who conquers others is a fool, but someone who tries to conquer themselves, is a double fool. Our self never needs conquering. Just be that real self, and let all other selves go. When we try to take the easier path, we make it harder. The path is what it is. If we do not trust anyone, no-one will trust us either. Give everyone the benefit of trust, in the first instance. He who hoards possessions has nothing. He who gives to others has everything. If everyone sees only love, non-love would cease to exist. Strength comes from weakness, not from strength. Real strength is weakness strengthened by love. The greatest love needs nothing else but itself. Love comes to you through loving, not by seeking love, through non-loving ways. Love never lacks, nor exhausts itself from its loving. Photo Credit: The photo used in this article was sourced from the free media site, pixabay.com If you are a lizard, be a loving lizard.

Taoism has a good philosophy without the genuine love of God behind it. So, it is nothing.

There is a difference between the love of God, and Man's idea of love, so you are right, we need God's love behind us. I would probably not say that it is nothing though, as it does espouse a good philosophy, and even Jesus Christ said, if they are not against us, they are for us. So, talking about living more wisely could be helpful to some people too. Mark, chapter 9, verse 40: "for whoever is not against us is for us."

These are worth remembering to lead a meaningful life without regrets. We get misled easily for short-term gains that eventually lead us to regrets By sticking to love and truth, we assure ourselves of a life well-lived. The tenets of Taoism are more about peace, coexistence, and spiritual development.

Thanks, siva. Shortcuts never get us anywhere in life, and we should always take the true path, based around love, as any non-loving action, our untrue pursuit, is always a shortcut, and will always lead us astray in our life, away from truth, and love.

@innertalks Our history is replete with our paying the price for taking shortcuts to gain an undue advantage. That is the root cause of endless strife that goes on and on. Love is an afterthought but hardly applied in our daily lives. We are always suspicious of others' motives.

@Shiva49 Yes, love should both become our first thought, and our first action, and never be pushed onto the back burner of our lives.

These are my favorites; When we try to take the easier path, we make it harder. The path is what it is. When I stop trying to be who I am not, I become who I am. Just be.
