My Grandmother's Fiver Dollar Bill Trick

My maternal grandmother was such an interesting woman. As well as being a great cook she also was very patriotic. She put the flag out for each patriotic holiday and made sure I knew the words to patriotic songs, the allegiance to the flag, etc. She would do this trick with the kids. She'd take a five-dollar bill and show us how you can see the words written on the south wall of the Lincoln Memorial. She would put a magnifying glass up to it and act like she was reading off the picture "Four Score and seven years ago...." and we little ones would be astonished.

Your maternal grandmother was a very interesting woman who like my late mother who was a patriot herself when we lived in Panama.
