It's crazy that most shelters are full or funding has run out for most programs around instead billionaires spend it on unnecessary things just to spend money for fun, While people suffer like building homes in outer space when people are suffering on earth is crazy!! Like I had an experience where they want you to pretty much be like oh I was homeless in a car for months for your situation to be considered worthy of stay in shelter places" !!! Sord of speaking (example) and u could only stay a limited time and can't come back til a certain time also ... It's just sad & it's getting worse day by day, months by month etc. you get it. & They add their own rules when they feel like it just to make it harder on people.

Also the government should not let anyone else into our country until they take care of our homeless.

What is even more baffling to me is that there are thousands of buildings that are abandoned and empty that could be converted into spaces for the homeless, but they are left to continue to rot and fall into ruin. I realize that we have had the homeless situation for thousands of years, but we still should take into consideration those who are homeless who wish to have shelter should be allowed to have the shelter. I have a very dear friend that is in an apartment that she is paying close to $2000 a month. There are some of you who may be saying "So what? That isn't too bad at all!" But take into consideration that both she and her husband are on disability income and they have to pay their utilities, laundry, vehicle, medication, and many other expenses from their income which is less than $3,000 a month. I am preparing to go to her house to take her a couple of outfits I bought her at the thrift shop yesterday and loan her some money for food for the rest of the month. The apartment complex they live in was sold and the new owner raised the rent constantly. I am going to provide her with connections to hopefully get them into a low-income apartment where they might have some money left over at the end of the month. The first bill that gets paid is the rent, and if they have to starve the end of the month, so be it. I am fortunate as I was able to get into my apartment as an emergency case. My home had burned down and it was a very short time before I was going to be living in my car. Somehow the county was called in and I got a low-income apartment, I was thrilled!!! Especially since I was able to move my two therapy cats in with me. I quit listening and watching the news because of the reports on the very wealthy and their extravagant spending. They turn their collective noses up at the poor and homeless, like it's a horrible disease. They don't realize that they are contributing to the problem. With taking jobs out of country, mechanizing, elimination and so much more people can't find work in endeavors that they are equipped for. COME ON AMERICA, GET WITH IT!!! Not all homeless want to be in that position. They want a roof over their head, warm food in their bellies, a warm place to sleep, and so much more. It isn't that they're lazy, think about it, to get a job you need an address where you LIVE to have an address where you live you need an income. To receive the phone call that you got the job you need a telephone to have a phone, even a pay-as-you-go phone you need money, to have the money you either need to beg it or have a job. To keep a job you need to keep up your appearance...the list continues. We can sit up in our ivory towers and spout all kinds of "wisdom", but that doesn't get things done, we need to climb down out of the towers and get off our collective butts and do something. THINK ABOUT IT!!!!

Billionares create jobs and investment opportunities for regular people. I think they do their part. And MOST of them are self made who came from poverty. They should be examples and motivation to people. Not pariahs.

The billionaires that we are exposed to as the general public are those that aren't exactly the best ones to show the public. The billionaires should be encouraged to reach out a hand to help the homeless up, not down. There are a lot of the billionaires that aren't self-made, that look at the poor and thumb their noses at them. They are the ones who need to be lead in the path of helping others rather than sitting in their ivory towers and thumbing their noses at them. When I get home from my excursion today, I'm going to look up billionaires and see what I come up with. It may be very interesting.

@BearArtistLady We disagree on this. Look if I have said it once I have said it a million times that rich people create businesses which create jobs which offer people an opportunity to have employment. At the same time many of those businesses are publicly traded which means everyone has the opportunity to invest in them and share in the wealth those businesses create. Money is not the problem when it comes to poverty. It's not the problem when it comes to homelessness. It's not the problem of low wages or having too much debt. It's a lack of education when it comes to managing money and understanding the INTRINISIC value of money. People create their financial situations both good and bad. People who figure it out have no obligation to anyone else to "help" them, and giving money or food or other things doesn't actually help anyone at all. Because again, money is not the problem. This can be illustrated in people who come into lots of money who go broke very quickly. Lottery winners. Actors, musicians and athletes. Hand someone who doesn't understand money a million dollars. It won't change a thing and they will be broke sooner rather than later. Hand a million dollars to someone who KNOWS about money and they will turn it into $2 million and more. Take food pantries. Do they help anyone? Not really. The same people who come in for a free loaf of bread will be there 10 years later still getting free loaves of bread. If food pantries helped them, instead of begging for free bread, they'd be donating it. Hands out of my pocket, is what I say. I EARNED it. I LEARNED how to do it. If you want my help? Ask me how I did it and I will gladly tell you, and that will be FAR MORE helpful than just handing you a check. lol If there is no better example of how "help" fails, look at the welfare system. Most people STAY on it, and THEN to top it off their KIDS get on it, so it only perpetuates poverty. It keeps people poor and down. It helps no one to actually get out of it.
