The joy, oh the joy. Not.

Our house is mostly empty now. A good lot of the junk has been removed - worn, old mattresses, a defunct fridge, washing machine that leaks, and we’re rattling around it with minimal furniture and no books. It’s been a lovely big rambling house to have lived in with its huge rooms and high ceilings and more toilets than a leprechaun could shake his behind at. Sprawling garden too, and I’ll miss the graveyard behind the fence where I’ve laid so many people to rest. This move really is difficult. And the food, oh the food. Kitchen utensils are mostly moved on ahead of us for some reason but I can’t be bothered cooking anyway and there’s so little time so tonight’s “dinner” was a frozen supermarket lasagne. Beyond disgusting, with a taste that will linger for days and a somewhat saponaceous feel to it in the mouth. Oh the joys.

It will be difficult to leave; but it will be lovely to have a house you can call your own. I hope the rest of the move goes well and that you and your wife are happy in your new home. Have a good day.

Ahhh I read you are moving to a new forever home - it is very difficult to let go of material memories, but take them with you because good memories are like best friends.

You're there now and this will soon be just a very slight memory.
