Day 8 – Sacrifice
Genesis 8:1 Then God (Elohiym) remembered Noah, and every living thing, and all the animals with him in the ark. God (Elohiym) caused a wind to pass over the earth, and the waters subsided.
2 The fountains of the deep and the windows of heaven stopped, and the rain from heaven was restrained.
3 The waters receded continually from the earth. At the end of the hundred and fifty days the waters decreased.
4 Then the ark rested in the seventh month, the seventeenth day of the month, on the mountains of Ararat.
5 The waters decreased continually until the tenth month. In the tenth month, on the first day of the month, the tops of the mountains were seen.
6 So it happened, at the end of forty days, Noah opened the window of the ark which he had made.
7 Then he sent out a raven, which kept going to and fro until the waters had dried up from the earth.
8 He also sent out a dove, to see if the waters had receded from the face of the ground.
9 The dove found no resting place for the sole of her foot, and she returned into the ark to him, for the waters were on the face of the whole earth. So, he put out his hand and took her, and drew her into the ark.
10 He waited yet another seven days, and again he sent the dove out from the ark.
11 Then the dove came to him in the evening, and behold, a freshly plucked olive leaf was in her mouth; and Noah knew the waters had receded from the earth.
12 So he waited yet another seven days and sent out the dove, which did not return again to him anymore.
13 It happened in the six-hundred-first year, in the first month, the first day of the month, the waters were dried up from the earth; and Noah removed the covering of the ark and looked, and indeed the surface of the ground was dry.
14 In the second month, on the twenty-seventh day of the month, the earth was dried.
15 Then God (Elohiym) spoke to Noah, saying, 16 “Go out of the ark, you and your wife, and your sons and your sons’ wives with you. 17 Bring out every living thing of all flesh with you: birds, cattle, and every creeping thing that creeps on the earth, so they may abound on the earth, and be fruitful and multiply on the earth.”
18 So Noah went out, and his sons and his wife and his sons’ wives with him.
19 Every animal, every creeping thing, every bird, and whatever creeps on the earth, according to their families, went out of the ark.
20 Then Noah built an altar to the LORD (Jehovah) and took of every clean animal and of every clean bird and offered burnt offerings on the altar.
21 The LORD (Jehovah) smelled a soothing aroma. Then the LORD (Jehovah) said in His heart, “I will never again curse the ground for man’s sake, although the imagination of man’s heart is evil from his youth; nor will I again destroy every living thing as I have done. 22 While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, winter and summer, day and night will not cease.”
God name:
Elohiym – Mighty God
Jehovah – Self-existent, eternal
Yeshua – Messiah
Character:
Patience
How long do you wait for something to happen? Do you have patience or are you anxious about the length of time it takes to get what you want?
God told Noah it would rain for forty days and nights and flood the entire earth, covering the highest mountains. However, it took longer than forty days before they could leave the ark. It took two-hundred-four days for the ground to become dry before they left the ark.
When the ground dried, God (Elohiym) told Noah he could leave the ark and everything with him so they could go out and multiply and fill the earth.
With the ground dry, Noah built an altar and took of every clean animal and bird and sacrificed them on the altar.
The LORD (Jehovah) smelled the pleasing aroma of the sacrifice and said in His heart He would never bring a flood again to destroy everything on the earth. While the earth remained, seedtime and harvest, cold and winter, day, and night, would never cease.
As the earth rotates day by day and year by year, you see the LORD’S (Jehovah’s) guarantee of seedtime and harvest, cold and winter, day and night never ceased. You take them for granted and don’t think about them as part of the promise He made to Himself. A promise He made because He smelled the sweet aroma of Noah’s sacrifice.
Does your patience lead to sacrifice? Or does it lead to grumbling and complaints? Do you think about God’s (Elohiym’s) patience? From creation to the cross, God (Elohiym) waited patiently for His people to obey Him. Yet God (Elohiym) knew the imagination of man’s heart was wicked. Obedience was far from their minds and hearts.
As Noah offered a sacrifice, God (Elohiym) would sacrifice His only Son, Yeshuwa, for the disobedience of His creation.
John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.” (NKJV)
God (Elohiym) loves you. His sacrifice is proof of His love. Noah’s first act of love for God (Elohiym) was to sacrifice and offering to Him. He waited patiently for the ground to dry before he left the ark and offered his sacrifice to the LORD (Jehovah).
Shouldn’t your love cause you to make a sacrifice to God (Elohiym) for all He does for you? Do you count your blessings and, with a grateful heart, lift your voice to Him as a sacrifice of praise?
Today, you don’t offer burned sacrifices to God, but you offer sacrifices to Him with your tithes and offerings, time, fellowship with other believers, studying His Word, and prayer. Every time you bring your mind and heart to the LORD (Jehovah), He sees your sacrifice as a pleasing aroma and showers you with blessings.
Patience brings sacrifice. What will you sacrifice to God (Elohiym) for all He does for you?
Let’s pray: Father, help me to have patience as You did for me. Let me give You the sacrifice of praise, time, and fellowship with other believers. Let me see Your blessings to me and rejoice in the sacrifice You made for me in the death and resurrection of Your Son. Let it be my first act every day. In Jesus’ (Yeshua’s) name, I pray. Amen.

This story would mean that we are all descended from Noah now, and that all the animals around today came from the ark, and multiplied and filled the Earth again then too.
God's hand must have been with those animals too, that they could all multiply readily, and not die out, through lack of numbers, or from the lions, and tigers, eating the other animals let out with them. Perhaps God ensured that the animals remained friendly with each other for a long period of time, after their time on the ark.

@just4him Yes, and God's blessing was with Noah, and his family, and with all that he did, including the release of the animals, so all would have gone to God's plan, at this time too.
