A female pickup truck driver is grateful that a helicopter that was used by the California Highway Patrol Air Operations to rescue her in Northern California on Monday evening after she attempted to drive her pickup truck over the Del Valley Creek in Livermore California.
Thanks to a camper who saw the female on top of her pickup truck contacted the local fire department to ask them for their help to rescue her.
The local fire department contact the California Highway Patrol Air Operations Unit to rescue her.
The helicopter from the highway patrol went to the area where the pickup truck was stuck and a San Ramon Fire Department was able to use a harness to get the female away from the truck that was in the creek.
The female driver of the pick up truck was then taken by the firefighter to shore where an ambulance took her to a local hospital to be treated for her injuries of being on top of her pickup truck for 18 hours.
Hopefully the female pickup truck driver will learn her lesson to drive safely when trying to cross a creek where the water levels are dangerous to cross.

That's an expensive lesson to learn. I'm sure she will have a hefty bill from the fire department for the use of the ambulance and helicopter to get her to safety, not to mention the bill from the hospital.
I'm glad she's safe after 18 hours on top of her pickup truck.

I am an agreement with you that the lesson that she will learn about trying to cross dangerous creeks will be an expensive bill she will have to pay.

A bad misjudgment.
Maybe she thought the wheels on her truck were large enough to make it.
Maybe, it will be expensive to retrieve that truck.

I'm glad someone spotted her on top of her vehicle. 18 hours is a long time to wait for rescue.

I am in agreement with you that the flood victim is lucky to be alive and be rescued by the firefighters.
