The Rarest Visitor

Sometimes we are offered little moments of joy suddenly. It was one of such moments. As I went to open our backyard door I was presented with a beautiful scene. A bird was picking its food from the ground and moving around all the time. I have never seen such a bird all my life. It is a medium sized bird. It wears zigzag lines on its wings. What makes it stand out is its crown. It carries a plume which spreads from its forehead to its neck. The plume also is striking because it wears similar zigzag lines. Its beaks are rather longish a bit closer to its throat, something like those of woodpeckers. Perhaps I heard its cooing. I'm not sure whether it belonged to this visitor. I couldn't get the best photo. Its features are not clear in the attached photo. However, I hope you can make a mental picture from my description. I don't know if it will return. If it returns perhaps then I should take a better picture.

The bird looks small in the photo. I enjoyed reading the description of the bird. I hope it returns again.

Those zig zags on the wings are indeed rare. Wonder what it is called.
