6 hours of virtual tutoring this week

Unlike most teachers I LOVED teaching virtually during the first year of COVID. It was rough at first since it was trial by fire but eventually we all figured it out. When we returned to in-person instruction we did virtual homebound instruction. I was happy to take them since I could tutor in my sweatpants while hanging out with the cats. The next year they tried to demand that teachers go back to going to students' houses. No one signed up for it so they relented after like 2 weeks and it was virtual. They didn't even try that this year. All homebounds are virtual. I've told the guidance secretaries in charge of dealing with them in all 3 district high schools that I will take as many as I can get. I just keep saying "keep 'em coming!" $44.23 per hour is way better than getting a second job at a local store for $15/hour. This week I have 6 hours of tutoring so that's an extra $265 pre-tax. I'll take it. Every little bit helps. I'm hoping to get some more hours added to my afternoon schedule. I don't want students to be injured or have anxiety but I do like seeing that extra $$$ in the pay deposit every other week.

I don't blame you on that one. It is so worth it. Well, if the student actually gets online. But, then getting paid regardless is kinda cool.
