The two sisters in this story are Hannah and Nina. They have had a traumatic childhood with their abusive parents . Nina is nine years older than her sister and she left home at 16 , leaving Hannah to cope with her awful parents by herself. When Hannah was old enough, she went to live with her sister.
The sisters went on to have completely different lives. Hannah spent a short time in a well known pop group, and Nina was a single mother of three children.
At the start of this story Hannah is working as a music teacher and she lives alone in the New Forest. Nina is living in London with her youngest child Abe.
Then everything changes when Nina is found dead at home , and Hannah is expected to look after Abe who is 15.
She soon realises that there is something very wrong with the boy.

Yes, it is and there are a few twists in the story. You think you know what will happen next and then something changes.

I will continue the story through the comments, thanks for asking.
Nina`s eldest girl, Summer, `disappeared' aged 14 and her eldest son Jude got into some sort of trouble and nobody knows where he is. The story is mostly focused on Abe going to live with Hannah and the trouble he caused her .
