Do You Like Fish Fries and Pancake Breakfasts?

These are special events that happen around here, especially the fish fries during Lent. We have fish fries at other times as well. Tonight is one of the best of the fish fries in our town and I was really hoping to get my order in. There is a lady who lives here who comes on Thursday afternoons to pick up our orders and money, and then brings the fish dinners on Fridays. She was supposed to come yesterday but never did, I guess, as I still have my money. So I think it is leftover pizza tonight for me.
I love pancake breakfasts also, but I have not gone to one in many years. I don't know that I would want take-out for that. Anyway, I don't know anyone who would do that for me or any of the others here. I can make my own pancakes. But I sure cannot make fish the way these places make their fish. It is so very good.

@1creekgirl The fish fries and the pancake breakfasts are very popular fund raisers for various organizations. I am in the Midwest, in nw Ohio. Maybe these are not done all over the country. But it is very common here. Most of the fish fries happen during Lent and are held on Friday nights. The pancake breakfasts can be anytime but are on Saturday mornings.

I'm not a fish person, but I do enjoy pancakes. I've been to one or two, when I was in girl scouts. I hated how early they were.

Sounds interesting to me, I love both pancakes and fried fish. I have had lox (smoked salmon) rolled in pancakes with a creamy horseradish sauce very delicious,

I only eat fish when we get some in a Meals on Wheels lunch...but I LOVE pancakes. Haven't had them in a long time. Enjoy your weekend.
