19 February - What I'm Thankful for Today

Good afternoon from cold Green Bay, Wisconsin. The temperature on the computer says 39 F. Technically, it's warm, way above normal for this time of year. However, my feet are cold and I'm tempted to turn up the heat again. If my feet are cold, the rest of me is too. I think I turned it down a short while ago.
Today has been a good day.
I'm thankful I got up when I did this morning. I got 5.5 hours of sleep.
I'm thankful for the scale this morning. After a wonderful dinner at my neighbor's last night, I expected to gain. Instead, I lost. 
I'm thankful I got all my steps this morning walking the hallways. I did three laps on each floor. It's not boring when you have a lot to think about.
I'm thankful for the work I did on Wilderness Cry. A couple of pages, but it's two more than I had before. Eventually, I'll hit a writing frenzy and knock out a full chapter.
I'm thankful for the time I was here with you today. I finished the notifications several times and wrote five posts, including this one. You are a huge part of my day. I love getting to know what's going on in your world and about your culture.

I am grateful that even though it is President's Day, the city did pick up the trash from the sidewalk this afternoon as well as my ability to find good news stories to share news stories on this site.

I'm thankful the wether cleared up and the Daytona 500 is going as scheduled. George is sitting happily on the couch watching it. I know it makes him happy. Which gives me time to work and knock out several things online. I'm hoping I get another survey down and get closer to another payout. if not, that's okay.

Thankful for being alive, for having it all served in a platter, for the posts that are food for thought (like yours), for believing that the Almighty will work through us for others, for giving a good night's sleep, for a monthlong holiday, for allowing me to streamline my thoughts, for not allowing me to grow despondent, for everything.

@just4him I forgot to mention how thankful I am for the man who comes and collects the trash every morning, the gardener who dedicatedly maintains the beauty of our garden, the newspaper fellow who never fails to deliver on the days allotted. There's much to be thankful for. We all have.
