Ah the memories! Back when I was in either 8th or 9th grade, we had a Sadie Hawkins Dance. Some of you may remember what this Sadie Hawkins Day is all about and what the dance is about. But those of you who are younger may not have ever heard of it before right now. Not to get too deep into the story, a Sadie Hawkins Day is February 29th so you can see it only happens once ever 4 years. Since before this current era, it was pretty common that the girls waited to be asked out or proposed to. They did not have the option to do the asking. That is, except on Sadie Hawkins Day. On Sadie Hawkins Day, the girls ask the boys out to the dance. The women propose to the men. Women who were tired of waiting to be proposed to, and girls who just wanted to be asked out, loved when Feb 29th came around. Well at least some of them did. I was too nervous and scared to ask anyone to the dance. As for proposing, I did propose to my boyfriend on New Years' Eve in a non-leap year. He said yes. LOL Have you heard of Sadie Hawkins Day and Dance?

I have heard of the dances, but not the day itself. Now a days, we don't have that problem.

I had heard of it before. That would be the time for a women to ask a man out or ask a man to marry her.

I know about women proposing in a Leap Year but I didn't know it had the name of Sadie Hawkins.

I remember asking at least 3 boys to the Sadie Hawkins Dance. All of them turned me down. I was devastated. Have a good day.
