The Boston Fire Department answered an emergency call from persons who were inside a duplex on Monday morning one week ago when a fire began in the basement and spread to the roof which trapped two persons and a dog that needed to be rescued. The Boston Fire Department with the help of other firefighters were able to rescue of a dog and two occupants who were trapped on the second floor of the duplex by the use of a ground ladder to get them out of the danger zone safely. The fire damaged the back of the building. The American Red Cross will be assisting the fire victims with temporary housing. One resident and firefighter was taken by an ambulance to a local hospital to be treated for minor injuries suffered in the fire and released. Link is msn.com/en-us/news/us...

The ladder of the firefighters proved useful here, and a successful rescue was brought about at some minor cost to a firefighter, and a resident. It is good the victims will be helped with temporary housing too.
