Thought I'd Update Everyone On My Medical Condition

Good news, friends, Turns out I don't need cataract surgery at present after all. There was another cause of the blindness in my right eye,the inflammation/Uveitis itself. Once that was treated (with powerful eye drops) my vision in the eye drastically improved. I'm still going to use the drops, on doctor's orders, in hopes of continued improvement. My doctor is hoping to spare me from surgery at all. He's primarily an eye surgeon, and even I know it's in his financial interest to do the surgery, but he doesn't care about that (which impresses me, given how many people are motivated by greed these days.) I got one of the ones who puts patients over profit, thankfully.

I am glad that you are being proactive about it and have a doctor who is working closely with you. I'm just sorry to hear this, it's never good to have eye issues! Is the doctor suggesting a different diet? I know that they generally do with Uveitis. I hope that the eye drops help and that the symptoms subside. Good to hear how you are doing! Take care.

I wasn't told to eat differently but I have been eating quite a bit healthier. The problem was a wakeup call, and I am never taking my sight for granted again. @MarieCoyle

@jnrdutton When your sight is affected, it alters your life, often forever. I may put off going to the doctor at times due to different circumstances, but when my eyes suddenly gave me fits, I went immediately. I had a small laser surgery done that day, and I was very glad I did. Glad to hear you are hitting on the healthy foods. I hope you can find some you really enjoy.

I'm so glad you were diagnosed correctly and soon. My husband has Iritis and knows if he doesn't use his thee eye drops every day, he could literally lose his eye. Take care.

I'm glad you don't have to have surgery. I found it to be rather unpleasant. Have a good weekend.
