Needing an Art Weekend

There is nothing going on this weekend, and with all the stress of the moving plans, and family health issues, etc., this weekend I am planning on making art as much as I can. Creating art is therapeutic. Mostly this weekend, I will be working on some watercolor backgrounds using colored pencils, paint pens, and more. I have a stack of these that I started months ago but have not had any ideas how to go forward with them. But lately I have been thinking that I need to work on these. It is easy work/play that I can do while watching tv without needing any special location. Making art, or creating of any kind is like taking a mental vacation. I also have a nice afghan that I started to crochet months ago, waiting on winter to really work on it. Winter is almost over, and I haven't done anything with it. I may not get to it this weekend, but it is possible. What do you do to relax and de-stress? What kinds of mental vacations do you take?

A hot bath after a long day is how I decompress. As long as I'm not to tired.

Art is really therapeutic and I can vouch on that. I am also into art and craft. I use them as therapy in my sessions with special needs children and adults. It's been some time since I have worked on any of my art project. I have an order to be completed by the month end

That is great that you can use art with special needs children and adults. That has to be very rewarding for you. I can understand that it can be hard to do for yourself what you do every day for work. But don't neglect your own projects. What type of art or craft do you make?

I had a period where I tried to finish up a lot of small projects. It was good to get them out of my mind.

I used to read; but I can't seem to concentrate on something long like a book; and the small print is hard to read. I just veg in front of the TV. Have a good day.
