Day 45 – Journey Genesis 46:1 So Israel took his journey with all that he had, and came to Beersheba, and offered sacrifices to the God (Elohiym) of his father Isaac. 2 Then God (Elohiym) spoke to Israel in the visions of the night, and said, “Jacob, Jacob!” He said, “Here I am.” 3 He said, “I am God (El), the God (Elohiym) of your father; do not fear to go down to Egypt, for I will make of you a great nation there. 4 I will go down with you to Egypt, and I will also surely bring you up again; and Joseph will put his hand on your eyes.” 5 Then Jacob arose from Beersheba; and the sons of Israel carried their father Jacob, their little ones, and their wives, in the carts which Pharaoh had sent to carry him. 6 So they took their livestock and their goods, which they had acquired in the land of Canaan, and went to Egypt, Jacob and all his descendants with him. 7 His sons and his sons’ sons, his daughters, and his sons’ daughters, and all his descendants he brought with him to Egypt. 26 All the people who went with Jacob to Egypt, who came from his body, besides Jacob’s sons’ wives, were sixty-six people in all. 27 The sons of Joseph who were born to him in Egypt were two people. All the people of the house of Jacob who went to Egypt were seventy. God’s name: Elohiym – Mighty God El – God God’s character: I will When you travel, you need to make plans for the journey. You decide on your itinerary, how you will travel: plane, car, cruise; where you will spend the night if going by car, layovers if by plane, ports if taking a cruise. You plan everything ahead of time. It can take months of planning before you set out on your trip. Jacob didn’t take the time to plan, he gathered his household together and left with everything they had and journeyed into Egypt. He stopped in Beersheba where he met Elohiym in the past and met with Him again. There Elohiym told him not to be afraid to go into Egypt. He would see Joseph, and Joseph would close his eyes. While in Egypt Elohiym promised to make Israel a great nation and bring them out of Egypt. Elohiym made two I will promises to Jacob. He promised to lead him into Egypt, make him a great nation, and lead him out of Egypt. With those promises, Jacob did not fear to go into Egypt. What kind of journey are you on? What has Elohiym promised you? 1. He promised to be with you. 2. He promised to lead you. 3. He promised to keep you safe from evil. Elohiym did not promise you would not have trials or heartache. Psalm 23:1 (A Psalm of David.) The LORD is my shepherd; I will not want. 2 He makes me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. 3 He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake. 4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff comfort me. 5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; my cup runs over. 6 Surely goodness and mercy will follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever. John 17:11 “Now I am no longer in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to You. Holy Father, keep through Your name those whom You have given Me, that they may be one as We are. 12 While I was with them in the world, I kept them in Your name. Those whom You gave Me I have kept; and none of them is lost except the son of perdition, so that the Scripture might be fulfilled. 13 Now I come to You, and these things I speak in the world, that they may have My joy fulfilled in themselves. 14 I gave them Your word; and the world hated them because they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. 15 I do not pray that You should take them out of the world, but that You should keep them from the evil one. 16 They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world.” John 16:33 “These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” (NKJV) When Elohiym makes a promise to you, you can trust Him to keep His promise and be with you every step of the way. Every journey begins and ends with Him beside you taking care of you, leading the way, and keeping you safe. Elohiym went into Egypt with Israel, and He was with Israel when He led them out of Egypt and brought them back to the Promised Land. He will do the same for you. It’s His promise. Let’s pray: Father, thank you for Your promise to be with me on my journey through life. Thank you for Your promise to lead me and keep me safe from everything Satan does against me. Help me see Your guiding hand as I reflect on Your promises for my life. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen. Copyright © 3 March 2024 by Valerie Routhieaux The image belongs to me.

From seventy people, in Egypt, the Jews expanded rapidly, and by the time of the census that God asked Moses to make, there were around 600,000 men, not including women, and children. I wonder why God let them expand so rapidly to become a perceived threat to the Egyptians, who then enslaved them.

People will usually feel threatened by something they don't know. It was God's plan to increase them. It was the only way they could defeat the nations when God led them into the Promised Land. Have a blessed day.

@just4him Yes, God did tell them many times, that they would multiply and be as numerous as the stars, or as the grains of sand on the beach.
