I found out that our chocolate had expired. It expired in January. It was kept in the fridge and I think that we can still eat it. We completely forgot about it because my mom buys too many chocolates and they expire. I wonder if it's safe to eat them. I found some information about it and it seems like expired chocolate is safe. I think I will eat it because I don't have any other sweets left.

You may eat a bit first,if the taste is still good,no unusual taste or texture, you can eat it.Sometimes,i drink expired milk,it didn't go bad.Actually, the expire date doesn't means the goods will go bad after expire date,it means they can't guarantee the quality of goods. In fact, some goods still be ok a few days after expire date.

As long as it wasn't left out, doesn't look or smell funny, then it's safe to eat.

I think it will be safe as long as the chocolate has not discolored or looking bad, From the Internet
Expired chocolate is generally safe to eat, but it may not taste as good as fresh chocolate1. If the chocolate has been unopened or stored correctly, it’s generally okay to eat for months past the expiration date2. Dark chocolate, baking chocolate, bittersweet, or semi-sweet chocolates will generally stay fresh for one to two years2.

Expired chocolate is safe to eat, as long as it doesn't have a light tannish coating on it. Since it was in the fridge it is still safe to eat. The only way you might make yourself sick is by doing the normal thing of eating too much of the chocolate at one time and giving yourself a stomach ache. I have had chocolate that has been in the fridge for a couple of years and it hasn't gone bad, simply because it is in a temperature controlled environment.
