What I Ate Today - 3/5/2024

Hello everyone, how are you all doing? It's getting late (11 PM here) so soon I will be getting some sleep. Wanted to share my food/health post for the day. Let's start with the weigh in Starting weight (March 4th) - 216.4 March 5th - 212.6 I almost lost 4 pounds in a day. I do know it is mostly water weight...I just hope that I can drop a lot of water weight pretty quickly. I would like to lose at least 16 pounds by the time I see the doctor in May (well I guess 12.6 now). If I do well and drop those pretty fast I will make a bigger goal. Blood sugar - I haven't checked throughout the day. I need to put on a new CGM. However, my fasting sugar was 98. Now, what did I eat today? Meal 1 - turkey bacon (6 slices), and 1 oz cheddar cheese Meal 2 - Can of tuna with mayo, a little ketchup and sugar free BBQ sauce. Sounds weird, but is good. Snack - 2 TBSP sugar free chocolate chips Meal 3 - Chocolate peanut butter keto chow made with butter Macros for all of that -- Calories - 1,102 Protein- 71 Fat - 83 Carbs - 22 Fiber - 9 I think the numbers were pretty good...maybe need a bit more protein. It is just hard sometimes. What do you think of the food, and numbers?

The numbers look pretty good. I gave my blood and urine samples today morning for the comprehensive thorough check up. I do it annually other than the regular diabetic check up twice a year. It's covered byy husband's corporate. I will get the report by the end of the day. Keeping fingers crossed

@MommyOfEli2013 Things look good in report, except that Hb1ac has gone up to 7. It was 6.1 last time. Going to doctor's office in some time to show the report. Rest looks okay to me, but doctor would be the better one to see. Few things are on borderline low and high

@arunima25 Sorry you went up to 7 on that, mine went up to 8.9 after being at 6.9. That's good the rest look good. Borderline can be okay, depending what it is I guess lol. I was like that on a few numbers, mostly numbers saying I need Iron.

Hey there! Thanks for sharing your update! Wow, you've made some great progress with your weight already, that's awesome! It's fantastic that you're keeping track of your health journey and setting goals for yourself. Your meals sound delicious and well thought out. That tuna concoction sounds intriguing, but if it tastes good and fits your plan, that's what matters! Your macro breakdown looks solid, and hey, adjusting protein can be a work in progress – it's all about finding what works best for you. Keep up the fantastic work on your health journey, and don't hesitate to share more updates. Wishing you a restful night and continued success on your goals!

So far, so good. I had my blood draw and was 130 for glucose after fasting for 12 hours and had an A1C of 5.7. Not real happy with the numbers. How is a 5.7? Borderline?

Sorry you were at 130 fasting...but a one time fasting test doesn't mean all your sugars are bad. 5.7 is just right before pre diabetes I think. Normal is 5.6 and under.

I am not concerned about fiber honestly. More concerned with higher protein and low carbs
