Forced to change my password

Last night I was shocked that my facebook account out for some reason. I never thought it could happen. I thought my account got hacked so created a new password. It worked after a few minutes. I thought my computer was having an error so I reboot it.
Then when I came back online there was a post that there was an massive outage on the website and every one panicked.
I'm glad I wasn't alone. I deleted all of the post shared and other comments that were somewhat provocative.

@Letranknight2015 yes, heard that satellite was shut down and it was deliberate.
