Our town is located near a jungle.Last year in November a herd of wild elephants entered our town. This was the first time they had come to our town in quest of food.Usually they enter villages adjacent to the jungle. The town was fast asleep.Someone saw two or three of them through the window. He immediately went to to the roof and shouted. The whole locality woke up. The elephants came near the hospital and went on to the main road. Finally the forest officials were called who chased the elephants back to the jungle.

@LadyDuck Actually jungles are being felled in the name of development and that's why wild animals move to towns and villages in search of food.

@Shivram59 Hmm, maybe they should plant the elephants a paddy field of their own.

@snowy22315 People would hand over their fields to the elephants themselves.

I think they can't find food in the jungle. This is sad.

@dya80dya A major part of jungles are cleared. They neither have sufficient space;nor food.

The same thing happened in my city. The elephant herd came to the fruit market and ate away the fruits. It's a tribal girl who led them back to the jungle.

@aninditasen She must be a very brave girl.I highly appreciate her.Is she trained?? Jungles are being felled and wild space for wild animals is shrinking. That's why they enter villages and towns.
