Good afternoon.

I m missed the morning by a few minutes. I just know today is going to be one of those days. I'm tired, and had a sleepless night. George fell asleep on the couch and I couldn't get him to go to bed until this morning. That was around seven. So I was half an hour late giving him his blood thinner, but it's okay I'll adjust for it. I'm trying to work around what he's willing to do. It's going to be warmer today, so there's that. George is enjoying the sun. I also think I know why he's so wet in the mornings. He was only in bed about three hours this morning and despite sitting on the toilet and changing his soaked underwear, his shirt was half wet. We have a heated matress pad that he turns on, then covers up. In the past, before his stroke, he used to go to bed with the covers on, and if he got warm toss them aside. Now, once he's down, he has no real desire to move. Therefore he's getting to warm. This would explain why his shirt is soaked on one side up to his shoulder, why his stoma site is soaked, and why only one of the three pads I have under him is wet. Meaning it should improve as the weather warms up and he's not turning on the heating element.

We have had some issues with our heated mattress pad, and we try to make sure we turn it on to warm up, then turn it off when we go to bed. It can make a huge difference. We talked with urology wondering if some of the frequent bleeds he has could be provoked by the heated pads and covers. You may be on to something to help George.

Yeah. Even though the pad has the fitted sheet and three bed pads, it can make his side to warm. I don't doubt he pees, but I know it can't all be pee. As summer approaches he'll need it less and less. And, hopefully he'll be dryer.

It's that darn time change playing havoc with your sleep. I went to sleep with the old time on my mind, Then I fell asleep and dreamt about putting gold rings around dinosaurs. My anxiety is yo-yo-ing and I just can't wait to adjust after which my usual spring tiredness will arrive with the first day of spring SIGH Anyway enough about me maybe this can be of some help
