First let me lay out the short story. I watched again the movie 13 Hours. If you don’t know this is based on a true story about the attacks on September 11, 2012 of the American diplomatic compound in Benghazi, Libya. The film shows how things ran up to September 11th, through the attack and how they got out of there. Even though the film has had some mixed reviews I thought it was pretty good. I wonder if some of those reviews were based on some politics based on the situation. What do I mean, well I will be happy to explain my thoughts on it. I’m no expert on film making or acting or sound for films, but I thought as far as the type of film it could be just a well and any other films I have watched. It does show, how some of those from the State Department didn’t support those on the ground with their lives on the line. They didn’t take advice from the soldiers that they hired to protect others. If react units or aircraft were sent in the beginning it could have been a different situation. Who was ultimately responsible for the lack of supporting the Americans on the ground? The Secretary of State at the time was Hillary Clinton so by the position she should be responsible. I will fully admit I personally do not know if she was at the time aware of the situation or perhaps no one passed it up the chain of command or maybe someone took it on themselves to stop support that was requested. I wish the film made clearer how “they” left those men and women out there on their own, and how support was refused while “they” could have sent help and refused to. Their political careers were more important than the lives of Americans. If you want to learn a little about the situation and enjoy a good action movie, I suggest this movie. Also research the situation to learn more about. This is what our politicians do, save their own butts over saving Americans.
