What a day?

With my insurance I get some OTC meds and supplies. Since I have lived here where my apartment is not close to anything I had to order them via online or by phone. Also because the weather has been so cold too. Finally it started getting warmer a few days ago and I really needed some supplies ASAP. So I called the insurance company department for the OTC shopping and was told that my card was activated and I could make my purchase at the CVS or Walmart stores. Walmart is cheaper but no way I can walk to it especially with my foot acting up. I hobbled six blocks to the store and got the few things I needed in the basket took them to the front and the lady got a response that the things were not eligible for me to purchase via my insurance card!!!! So I pulled out my phone and called back to the insurance company and was told that I was using my 2023 card and not my 2024 one. Which I never got! But which is it the items are not eligible or wrong card? SMH

Not yet, I am probably going to have to wait till Monday. Until then my daughter went and bought me some of the things! Thanks!

@Happy2BeMe Somewhat but the main thing that I needed Walmart didn't have and neither did a couple of other stores she stopped at!

I am sorry that happened to you. I hope they send this years card out so you can use the benefits. My mom in law uses hers and has stuff delivered year round along with her prescriptions.

Thanks! I used to have them delivered but usually it takes a long time for them to arrive. I am changing insurance companies.

I have an OTC card with my insurance company too. And, what I've found, is the company changes what they consider "legiable" all of the time and don't tell you. This usually changes from year to year. And, I am sorry you are having trouble. I know to look for my OTC card in november, because that's usually when they send it. The kicker, I have to hang onto it for two months before I can use it.

Well after I started this discussion I went to their ordering website and ordered the same supplies and meds that I was trying to buy at CVS. And first the receipt that came out of the register the cashier showed me and it said that what I was trying to purchase. Then when I called the story changed again, now all of the sudden I have the wrong year card and it was not as well my card was not activated. However before I left I called and they said that my card was activated! I have found with them before they changed OTC Third Party companies several times. And with this OTC company I have found that no products were available in a whole section of types of items.

@dfollin Yeah, that does happen. And, I'll be the first to admit, I'm not a fan. Not much I can do about it.

I hope you told them to send you the right card. That is not right that you had to walk there and the card was no good.

Yeah it is especially when my feet, hips and legs hurt, I walked there for nothing! I will probably have to call them on Monday.
