My Friends Are Still There

As planned;I visited my "old friend"- the jungle last evening. .Iwas curious to know if something had changed within last four years.
But nothing had changed; except that four small huts that had come up near the jungle.
As I entered the jungle;a fox rushed out of a bush and disappeared in the jungle.
I climbed on a old banyan tree and looked around to spot any hyaena or jackal;but there was none.The loneliness of the jungle was haunting me.
I came down and went inside the jungle.The jungle was calm and lonely.I saw nothing.
I stayed there for an hour and then left for home;sad and disappointed.I was wondering where all the jungle inmates had gone.Did they leave the jungle and went somewhere else??
It was getting dark.
Suddenly a jackal called from inside the jungle and the next moment many others joined him.Then I heard hyaenas calling out.
I don't have words to tell you how happy I am.

@LadyDuck Yes;I'm very happy today.My friends are safe ..I'll go there tomorrow again and try to see them as I used to do before covid lockdown.

@LadyDuck Last night we had a little rain.If today it rains in the evening;it would not be possible for me to go to the jungle.

Maybe they will come out more, the inmates, as you visit them.
Perhaps they also were just meandering there, waiting for a solitary friend like you.

@RebeccasFarm I know.They his themselves in the bushes..When I left the jungle;they started coming out from their hideouts.Perhaps they have forgotten me in the last four years.I hope I'll befriend them soon.

Do the Hyaenas come near the humans?
Or do they fear or avoid them?
Doesn't that forest has any Leopard/Panther/Tiger from whom one needs to be careful?

That sounds fine.
Yet I wonder if a pack of them could occasionally become aggressive towards humans?

@Happy2BeMe Yes;I'm so happy to learn they are still there.Four years is a long time.I think they have forgotten me.But Im sure we will be friends again within a few days.

dya80dya Who fears from small animals??They are harmless.But a hyaena may become violent IG you chase and corner him.But why disturb them??

@Shivram59 Yes, small animals aren't dangerous. And they are afraid of people. But many people have a huge fear of mice and rats. I am not afraid of mice.

Wow...You go for a walk alone in the forest. Do you see so many wild animals there? Aren't you afraid?

@LotusEyes There are small wild animals there;just like foxes;jackals;monkeys;hyaenas etc.They fear human beings.When they see me;they hide themselves.I just enjoy their movements from one bush to another.I enjoy it so much.But I never go there in winter as that's the time when paddy is harvested and wild elephants come there searching for food.
