Do you practice self forgiveness?

March 20, 2024 6:17am CST
Lack of self-forgiveness has been discovered to be one of the things that steal happiness. You are not the only one who made bad decisions in the past that hurt others and yourself. The persons you hurt in the past ight have moved on while you still find it hard to forgive yourself. To be happy, you should know you can unwind the time but you can be nicer to people hence you can be happy again.

Self forgiveness is paramount, you cannot exhibit what you do not have. Everything you wish to give out has to begin with you. To give Love, then you have to love yourself first.

I have not really thought about that. I'm awesome so nothing to forgive myself for I suppose I have practiced self-forgiveness. I used to feel guilty about some things that either I did wrong or that I felt were wrong or could have done differently. Now, while I still feel that some things could have been better, I see now why they weren't and that I have no reason to feel guilty about them.

I’ve heard ministers say this, and it’s true: when we read “forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us,” all too often it’s so much easier to forgive everyone….except ourselves.

Haven't been able to. I actually don't know how it is done. I mean, how can one forgive oneself when one knows that one has committed a wrong, knowingly? that the arrow is released, that nothing can be done now as time won't come back? that the person wronged has crossed over never to return? Someone once advised me to practice telling myself 3 times a day 'I forgive myself'...I left it after a week on seeing no results. Even if I consider that I am not the Doer, yet in terms of relationship with a person or persons in this life, I cannot erase that.
