I got up at 6:00am this morning! Actually, it was 5:52am, but I thought it's near enough to 6:00am, and I'm awake, so I might as well get up! I was getting up this early, which I don't usually do, so that I could do some painting on my desk in my bedroom, to see if it would work. I've moved my computer, monitor and printer to the side a bit to make a bit more room and this is what I painted while I was there. I decided not to use the metallic paints on this one, and use normal acrylics instead.
I started with the green. I used sap green for the darker areas and added white for the lighter areas, but then I decided the lighter areas were still too dark so I added light green to those areas. A lot of the green isn't showing up on this picture.
Then I went on to the orange on the right hand fish that is disappearing out of the picture. I added lemon yellow and tried to blend it, but I don't know if that worked. I added some violet at the bottom and went on to the bottom fish while that was drying.
On the bottom fish I put orange at the top and the bottom, and then lemon yellow in the middle and let them blend a bit. Then I went over to the left hand fish and added some orange to that one, but then added a bit of green down the bottom, but I don't know if that worked. I was going to add a bit of lemon yellow at the side when it was still wet, but I forgot.
Then I went on to the big fish in the middle. I painted most of the fish white, and I wanted it to be really opaque. When it was dry I noticed patches all over it, so I went over it again to make sure it was opaque. I missed off the fins and the eye, but when I went over it again I went over the eye a bit, but the outside of the eye is a red colour so I'll be able to go over that.
I painted part of the top and bottom fin with orange. Then I noticed there was a black tail at the back that I hadn't noticed before and I tried to suggest where it was by going round it with green paint, but I don't think that's worked. I might have to go back in again and draw it in with the white gel pen, and then see what I can do.
Then I left it to dry and did some reading until 9:00am, which is the time I usually get up!
When my Mum and step-dad went out to the luncheon club, which is the last one before Easter, I got my stamps out and stamped them both a topper for an Easter card. I have to colour them in yet and attach them to the card blank. I'll have to do that when they're having their dinner one day and they're not watching. Or maybe I could take them into my bedroom to do them in there.
After that I put my stuff out on the dining room table ready to do some more painting. And here I am!
What are you lot getting up to today?
I hope you are all well.
Have a nice day.
