Let’s give another round of applause to @RasmaSandra for the suggestion for “living” songs. It’s top ten time, which means no surprises at all.
Off we go into my rarified air when it comes to songs with “live” in the title. Speaking of no surprises….
#10: Living in the Band - Poco
(Linda? Probably not.)
Yeah, give me a topic and it’s like a cat in a box….if Poco fits, it sits…and usually in the top ten.
This is one of two autobiographical songs about the band Poco (the other being “Where It All Began” on Legacy). Paul Cotton, who was not an original member, wrote this from the perspective of a fan who “saw the very first show.”
As the lyrics say, “There were two from Colorado” (Rusty Young and George Grantham), “Texas” (Jim Messina grew up there) “and “Nebraska too” (Randy Meisner, the one who “parted strangers”), and “another came from Ohio” (Richie Furay). And no, “they did not sing the blues.”
The great legacy of Poco ended in 2021 when both Cotton and remaining original member Rusty Young died. But what a life of music they left us!!

Love the song and love the band, It is always wonderful when even though artists pass on their music lives on and on

Saw them twice, one of my all-time favorite bands.

Can’t argue with either point. Love Poco’s music so much.

@FourWalls It's a little chilly in the house. Turned the heat down from where my husband had it. He's usually cold. Have a good week.
