I´m having lunch with baby turtles.

No. I´m not eating turtles and I´d never have them. They are precious to me. But I took my lunch (a cold rice and mussels salad) to bed and here I am, watching Love Nature channel. Tiny turtle eggs are hatching and they slowly walk towards the sea. It is not easy for them to survive. There are all sorts of predrators waiting for them. And they are so cute! In Aruba, where turtles go to lay their eggs, special people surround the nest where the eggs are. At least they will be kept away from the human beings. They also have lessons there to explain everything. And for a tiny fee, they let tourists take a baby turtle and, at least, save them from the first bad guys: the marine birds who are waiting for them. The feeling of helping them make people (specially young ones) a sort of turtle godparents. And through them, they start learning to help instead of kill. I have always thought that if people knew more, they´d be better. Do you agree with me?

I do agree with you. I watched a tv show before about the baby turtles and it was heartbreaking to hear how many dont survive.

Some are not even able to reach the sea. So this idea of taking a baby turtle to the sea is wonderful. At least they skip the predrators from the air.

I know there are places where you can volunteer and watch over the baby turtles to make sure they get to the sea safely. Unfortunately, I'm now too old to do that. I always wanted to.

When I was young, that was not used. Now we are too old to wait for hours until baby turtles come out. Better to watch that on TV.
