George is full of surprises.

Every day I never know what George is going to do. At night, I joke with him about being lazy when he asks for help with his pants. I don't mind doing it of course. I love him, and it's a small price to pay to have him alive and recovering. Today, was laundry day. Part of my late start on the computer.
I did my normal laundry. While cleaning up the house and getting things ready to go down to the curb, George called me outside. He was asking for my help with the washer. There was a blanket he had put in there. Something that needed washed, but not something I'd gotten to, yet. So after I opened the washer, I realized what he wanted and started it.
An hour later... he called me out again. He'd taken it upon himself to put the same object in the dryer. So, I had to start the dryer, too.
He's trying.

Like you said, he's trying. He wants to help. He's getting there, step by step, with your guidance and love.

He can't always tell me what he wants. He still has afasia. But, when he shows me things it's pretty clear. Although I was confused as to what he meant. Until I looked in the washer.

Once again, that teamwork is working between you two. You always seem to figure it out.

I don't have much choice, but to. I would hope he'd do the same if the roles were reversed. No. He'd be driving me crazy, because I run the household and pay the bills.

As long as he's willing to help in whatever he can
don't discourage him, that's what my husband done
when I came out of the hosp & I flat told him I have
to motivate to get back on my feet, I can't just sit &
do nothing & B-4 he knew it I was BACK on my feet
faster than he thought I would be.

If anything, I'm constantly encouraging him to do something. To help him get back to himself.

He knows enough not to mess with the washer or dryer. In terms of turning them on. However, it was nice to see him load and unload it.

I find it silly how he does things sometimes, but I still love him and love seeing him more himself even if his mouth doesn't match

He's doing well. Soon he'll be able to wash and dry without help.
