Today I had turai poppy seed curry with rice.

In bengali the vegetable turai is called jhinge. I had jhinge posto with rice. Posto is the bengali word for poppy seed paste. it is a very tasty, item. The poppy seeds are crushed and converted into a paste. Then the curry is made with the paste and the turai and potatoes.

Many of the ingredients found in your Indian dishes I've never heard of. Same with the cuisine from other Asian countries too.
