Houseplants. Do You Like Them?

Do you like houseplants? I love them. But right now, I don't have much room for many. I have a Ficus, peace lily, snake plant, spider plant, and two porthos which back in my early years were actually called philodendron. I still call them that. I had books on houseplants and the care of houseplants, and I do not even remember the name porthos. They were all varieties of philodendron.
Having cats and plants can be dangerous. It can also be a problem with dogs but not so much as with cats since they can jump and climb up to higher levels where plants can be growing. Plants can be poisonous for them. So, whenever I have a cat for a pet, I don't keep houseplants. Since I have a dog now, I keep plants. Hopefully after I move, I can have more.
You can also grow herbs and vegetables and some fruits indoors as well as regular houseplants.
Do you have houseplants? What kinds?

@wolfgirl569 Maybe I will try them again. My current plants don't need watered much.

@capirani I usually do good. The hard thing is not watering them too much

All it takes is a little extra research to determine what kinds of indoor plants are toxic to plants. We don't have indoor plants, but we put a few plants in our flower bed.

@capirani There are ways to have both. Though I do love my chilly bug.

There are a lot of types that don't need watered all that often. But many can grow on one watering a week, so if you make it a habit to water on a specific day, it should work for you. There are also several that are so difficult to kill that they would work for you.

I'm not a houseplant person. We've always had dogs; but we don't have any of those anymore either. I hope you are enjoying your weekend.

When I lived in KY, I had a garden and grew everything I could. I had brussel sprouts until it snowed. Corn never really did very good for me, but I grew some Monstrous Tomatoes. Bigger than a piece of bread, But since I moved to FL...I can NOT grow tomatoes..and if I DO get them to grow, they are so small. I even tried upside down bags that was popular, and then had 7 other plants...Got flowers galore...but never had One tomato. As far as house plants, the only plant I have ever had any luck with, was a Lucky Bamboo. I have it in my bathroom window. Now that I do not have a cat, I might try some herbs. Sam took up all my good growing windows..that is the reason my bamboo is in the bathroom. He would just move them out of his way. LOL
