Along with songs that are turning 70 this year I’m celebrating the 40th birthday of a number of songs. This one almost made a top ten (lost a coin flip). Most of you won’t even know this, a couple might think you heard it way back when, and one person might love this. Here’s today’s 1984 song. Rattlesnakes - Lloyd Cole and the Commotions Hooray for 120 Minutes, the MTV show that featured “underground,” college, and lesser-known music. That’s where I heard this first…and it hit me right between the eyes. After the Commotions broke up Lloyd Cole continued as a solo artist. That’s when he recorded the brilliant “Weeping Wine.” He’s still performing. He lives in America (he’s married to an American woman), so he has his “American circumstance,” too. I hope you enjoy this great tune as much as I do. Rattlesnakes Written by Lloyd Cole and Neil Clark Recorded by Lloyd Cole and the Commotions From Rattlesnakes, 1984 She looks like Eva Marie-Saint in On the Waterfront:

Once again, very 80s. I don't recognize the group or song. Have a good day.

“Very 80s” isn’t always a bad thing….not always a good thing, either (especially with the hair bands ).
