The marigold plantations are planted around the vegetable farms

In the countryside in the east the marigold plantations called genda are planted in the middle of other vegetable farms. They include the potato farms, the cauliflower plants and brinjal farms. The marigold bring a lot of revenue and are used to make garlands for different purposes.

When I had a vegetable path, I made myself a bug repelent with marigold flowers. And they are so beautiful.

Marigolds are supposed to be good as 'companion' plants and help keep bugs away from whatever they're planted with.
