The kabuli peas are used in Bengal to make curry

There are 2 types of peas found in Bengal. One form are the small grams. The others are called Kabuli Chola. These are bigger in size. Bengalies make a curry out of them and eat with chapatis. North Indians prepare a dish called chole batore. The chole part is made with the kabuli chola.

Chole bhature is my husband's all time favourite. I am not a big fan of chhole chana. I like kala chana more.

Kala chana is eaten a lot during Holi Arunimaji. My mother cooks ghoogni with matar. The matar is immersed in water and then boiled and coconut and onions and chillies are added.

@sathviksouvik The mention of ghoogni makes my mouth water. Ghoogni chura( fried poha) is a popular traditional breakfast/snacks item in Bihar and Jharkhand.
