Some more drawings I've done ready to paint.

I've done some more drawings ready to paint. First I drew a beach scene on a mini canvas that I'd painted orange. Then I drew a bridge and trees scene on a mini canvas that I'd painted green. Then I painted this butterfly. (Above.) I drew the leaves on the left in first, and then I drew the butterfly. I had a bit of trouble at first, and got the shape a bit wrong, so there was a lot of rubbing out. It looks a lot better now, although it's still not perfect, but I'm leaving it at that. I also sharpened my pencil. But why is it that when I sharpen my pencils the leads always break?! Then I started another drawing to paint. This one is of a wolf and it's not finished. When I started it, it looked awful, frankly! So I started to measure everything! I measured the eye on the reference photo as half a cm. The eye I'd done on my drawing was 1 cm, so I used that as my basis. I double the size on the reference photo on the drawing, so half a cm becomes 1 cm, 1 cm becomes 2 cm, 2 cm becomes 4 cm, etc. I measured the distance between the eyes, the distance from the eyes to the side of the face, the distance from the eyes to the nose, the distance from the nose to the bottom of the face, the size of the ears and the size of the face to make sure everything inside was in the right place. It took me ages and, as I said it's still not finished. I won't be able to do any more to it today because we're going to the big Tesco in about half an hour, and tomorrow I'm doing more painting, so I might do some more to it on Friday, or if not Monday. And while I was drawing the wolf, the lead in my pencil was coming loose! Anyway, I've still got that still life to paint before I start any of that. Or, I might start one of them while some of my still life is drying. So, what are you getting up to today? I hope you are all well. Have a nice day.
