Today's trip to the big Tesco.

We went to the big Tesco again today. After I'd got rid of the soft recycle, we went up on the lift. I got an Artists and Illustrators magazine and an SFX magazine which is a Doctor Who special. Then I got the usual bottles of water and prawn layered salads. My Mum got some vitamins for Syd and then I got him some soothers. Then I got my Mum two very large packets of pads. We went to the fruit and veg section and got the usual stuff, plus some celery. My Mum didn't want any fruit and veg today. We got the usual yoghurts and milk and Mum got her puddings for Sunday. Mum said she wanted some grated cheddar cheese, but when I got there the one she wanted wasn't there. It was a no. 3 mature with red on the packet. But a shop assistant was there putting stuff on the shelves and she asked me what I wanted, so I told her. She scanned the label on the edge of the shelf and it said thst that there was some in stock in the store room. She said she would go and fetch some for us. She came back a few minutes later and gave it to me, and I said thank you. I got some soy pieces and scrambled tofu from the vegan and ready meals isle, and my Mum got what she wanted. I got some little jars of ground coriander, cinnamon and turmeric, and Mum got some mustard for Syd. Then Mum got some microwavable rice, and I got some udon noodles and tamari soy sauce. Then we got an original curry pot noodle and a potato and leek cup-a-soup for Syd. We got a 50/50 loaf, then my Mum got some cakes and I got some maple syrup. We didn't need any packets of crisps today, but we did get some salt and vinegar pringles. Then I got some Love, Corn and my Mum got some coffee, and then we went to the frozen section. At the frozen section I got some vegan magnum ice lollies again, and some prawns and salmon chunks, which were still in stock! My Mum got a big bag of crinkle chips and some chicken kievs. I went and got some kitchen roll and then we went to pay. I made sure my Mum stayed up the other end of the conveyor belt with one of those plastic things that you put down to separate people's shopping so that nobody started putting their shopping down before we'd finished! When we'd payed we went and sat on a bench for a bit, and at 4:25pm we made our way down on the lift. When we got into the undercover car park, Syd was already sitting there in the car. We went home, unpacked the groceries and put them away. Then I had my dinner and watched some telly. Later I put the recycle out ready for tomorrow. Mum has now gone to the house group. What have you lot been getting up to today? I hope you are all well. Have a great night.

@sharonelton I drove 10 miles to go to Sainsbury’s rather then depress myself with a trip to Asda. Gave the lawn its first mow of the year and melted the scragg ends of old bars of soap I’ve saved up to pour into moulds to make some new bars.

Well, you've got to do what you've got to do to avoid getting depressed! We have somebody to come round and mow our lawns for us! I remember I was in Church once and afterwards we were having a bit of a chit chat, and they started talking about lawn mowers. So I said, We've got a lawn mower. His names Martin! (Although since then his lawn mowing company has been taken over by his friend Mikey!) Making new bars of soap out of the scragg ends of old bars of soap sounds like fun.

@sharonelton The soap making was something I’ve not done before. Saved scragg ends for a year or so and produced 2 bars of soap. I’ll let you know when I’ve used them if it cleaned me properly.

@xFiacre It's a good thing to do so you don't waste those scragg ends. I hope they work well and gets you clean!

My BIL gave us a wheeled shopping cart so we'll be able to bring back more when we shop. At the moment we just buy what we can easily carry which isn't much.

@sharonelton Always handy to have a spare. Sorry - BIL is shorthand for brother-in-law.

I wouldn't be without the shopping cart! What's BIL? I remember when I used to go down town with bags to put the shopping in! They were so heavy and the handles used to dig into my hands. Thank goodness my Mum got a shopping trolley. It's a four wheeler that you push infront of you. We've got through one, the wheel fell off, so we got another one. But Syd put 2 on the order by mistake, so now we've got a shopping trolley that we use and a spare in case anything happens to that one!

I haven't gone grocery shopping in a while. My mom does all that regularly with my brother. I'm looking forward to having a productive day. I hope you have a good Thursday.

I've been getting my Mum to do the shopping to the little Tesco on a Tuesday recently because the weather was bad! (I don't mind my Mum getting caught in a rain storm as long as I don't!) I've still been going to the big Tesco as you can see from my posts. There's an undercover car park there so.we don't get in the rain so much. And I only went down town if I thought the weather was going to be fine! I hope you did have a productive day. I had a wonderful Thursday, thank you very much. I did some more painting.
